Safety and support

Something feels unsafe?

Tell us. You do not need an account, and you do not need to know which rule was broken. Children, parents, carers and anyone helping another person can contact us.

1. Tell us what happened

Email support@plotperch.com. A few words are enough to start. If you can, include the page address, what happened and when. You can report a listing, photo, logo, linked tour, enquiry, introduction or review message. You can also tell us about our safety process or a missed report.

On a listing, you can use “Report this listing”. Choose “Bullying, harmful content or another concern” if the other reasons do not fit. The online form needs a signed-in account; email does not. Do not create an account if you are under 18.

Only share information we need to understand the problem. Do not send passwords, identity documents or sexual images of children. A link or description is enough. You do not need to keep looking at upsetting content to report it.

2. What our team does

Authorised reviewers check reports and complaints. We acknowledge your report and explain what happens next. We normally assess reports within two working days, prioritising urgent safety concerns and suspected scams. These are response targets, not an emergency service.

We may remove content, disable a tour link or restrict an account. Reporting does not automatically remove content. We consider context and the content rules. We tell you the outcome and explain it in clear language, unless sharing details would put someone at risk or interfere with an investigation. If we need more time, we will explain.

We do not tell the person you report who reported them. We limit access to your information, but may need to share it with authorities where legally required or necessary to protect someone. See our privacy notice.

Use “Stop further emails about this report” in a report email, then confirm on the next page. You do not need to sign in. This stops future automated emails about that report without cancelling it or changing other emails. An email already being sent may still arrive. For manual replies, tell us “please do not send further updates”. Older emails may not include the stop link; contact support for help.

3. If you think we got it wrong

Reply to our email, or email support@plotperch.com. Say what you disagree with and include any report reference you have. You can challenge a removal, account restriction, decision to leave content up, or how we handled your concern. You can also complain if our safety measures are not protecting children.

A different reviewer will look again. We normally reply with the outcome and reasons within five working days. If more time is needed, we will let you know. There is no charge. You can ask a trusted adult to help or ask us to explain a reply more simply.

If you are being bullied or upset

It is not your fault. You can stop replying, leave the page and talk to an adult you trust. Use your email or phone's blocking tools for contact that happens there. PlotPerch does not currently have an in-app block button; ask our team to review unwanted contact or an account.

Childline has advice on bullying and cyberbullying, including ways to get support. You can use it without first making a report to PlotPerch.

If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. Do not wait for a reply from us.

How we protect people

Accounts are for adults, but public pages can be seen by children. Our rules prohibit harmful content even where it is lawful. Listings and changes are checked before publication. Other concerns, including messages and linked tours, can be reported to our reviewers. We use people to make moderation decisions and review our safety arrangements as the service changes.
